Just throwing out an idea for future buzz regarding organizing.
It would be nice to have a timeline, or set timeline blocks (so to speak) in buzz, so intro, main themes, breaks etc. could be easily identified. Especially in longer pieces of music..
Color coded pattern blocks would also be nice.
I made an example.. Sorry for my crappy photoshopping skills Razz

cant access to the picture (maybe some weird character in the name ?).
I have asked for colored patterns too. I think this would be very useful.

Interesting suggestion. Here's a little extra thought I just had: If you insert or delete from the timeline column, it should insert / delete from all tracks in the song editor.

That way you can move parts up and down more easily. Right now you have to either use copy/paste (selecting all tracks) or move tracks one-by-one in order to do this.

PS: Don't use the & character in online filenames. It breaks stuff.

or if you do, replace & with %26 in your urls.. if you taken your url, put it in a browser and hit enter.. they will often automatically do that for you, then you can just c&p the resulting encoded url

Aside from the colour coding, you can already do this by creating a sequence column for Master (or any other machine), putting it on the far left, and filling it with appropriately named empty patterns.

great suggestion! I'd love to see this, possibly along with a (native?) solution to jump to each part via a customizable midi message!! that'd be a fantastic treat!

That is actually a brilliant solution. This even enables you to easily change the tempo or master volume when reaching a certain phase of the song (if needed.)

PS: I seriously gotta try Ctrl-I in the sequencer view (F4) when I get the time.

Indeed.. But its not as phexy.. Smile
However, If buzz could automatically color code the master patterns you make, that would be win win Smile

Out of boredom, i made another sketch up with even more silly ideas Razz

1. Multiple solo's
Ok, nothing to do with timelines.. I just added it bacause it's a feature that i really hope to see implemented. It's a pain in the arse to mute say 10 channels just to be able to solo 2 or 3 of them.
Yeah, i could do it with a mixer machine but.. I don't usually see the need for "external" mixers (with this exception)

2. The block part is just something i'm airing.. Might be a bad idea, i haven't thought it 100% trough yet Razz

The idea is to: Select a part in the seq. view and define it. In this case, define it as "main part".
Paste it later on in the track to re-use it. Then drag it's length with the mouse. If you drag it longer than it originally is, it will loop and start drawing from the beginning.

Color coding by type would be nice, for instance different colors for fx, generators, peer, audiotracks. This would be really nice for those songs with a bazillion tracks.
