|
|
Is there a way to trigger samples with a midi controller so I can record some kind of off-beat drum patterns? Should I be using a different tracker?
So far I've only been able to get my midi controller to work with VSTi machines and the sliders work with others, but I can't get it to work with Matilde tracker... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! |

mc1 with matilde (like jr said)
peerchord with matilde
matilde works by itself with midi (check the attributes to set your midi channel) make sure you have a sample selected or it will crash
polac vsti loads fuzzpilz's utracker and since it has a slider for sample number (matilde doesn't) you can also trigger that way
you can also wrap matilde with usr's midiwrapper uMw for more fun
oh yea there are alot more i'm forgetting

| ok, thanks. I got Matilde working with mc-1, but why would it work with some samples and not with others? I have separate trackers for a kick, claps, and a hihat, but only the hihat seems to work... They're all hooked up the same way, so I don't know what's going on. |

you would need to disable the midi on the trackers that you don't want to edit ..
or set the midi listening attribute to something other than 1.
say :
1) tracker one is set to midi channel 1
2) tracker two is set to midi channel 2
3) tracker three is set to midi channel 3
all you should have to do is change the channel that your midikeyboard is broadcasting on... then the corresponding tracker
should in theory react.
or what..? |

| OK, new problem here. I got everything working, but it will only record trigger on the beats. What machine should I be using (maybe a VST plugin) to get my sample to go exactly where I hit it instead of quantizing (sp?)? |

SampleGrid was designed for this. Right click samplegrid and assign your samples/midi keys. _________________ http://www.lazytrap.com/ |

Actually, the only slider Matilde has is exactly the wave/sample slider. _________________ last.fm discogs |
