In Jacinth, there are so many global parameters that even at 1600x1200 screen res I cannot see half of them. Is there a workaround to show these parameters or will I have to work in blind, with the statusbar?

hm maybe you can use like a "virtual desktop" thing? u know, where it makes your desktop huge resolution, and you scroll around within it.

I am using PeerCTRL for those 'invisible' parameters.
Another option is to enable HD's Screamwaver. You still can't enter the values for those invisible rows, but you can draw a curve. Hit the 'previous/next' buttons to browse through all parameters.

This drives me insane about Buzz. When I'm using it on my lappy which (is old, and) has only 1024x768 it really blows when I'm using anything with a lot of options... in fact, FSM Infector barely fits on the screen. Sad

There should be some solution to this. I haven't looked into the API yet, but would it be possible to encapsulate machines in a loader that gives you a different UI? Actually, I'm even starting to like the knobs idea, even if they're a bit of a pain to control with a mouse.

This sounds like an ok workaround, thanks!

I think wayfinder was talking about the pattern editor while you are talking about parameters in the machine view.

The scrollbar in the parameter window works for me, which is an overloader feature I guess.

Does a two monitor setup enable you to stretch the main buzz window over two monitors?

The latest(?) version of SW has a horizontal scrollbar for the pattern editor (just above the Ctrl+1 2 3... indicators). As long as you click in the column you want to edit, and don't try to move off-screen with the cursor keys, you can see and edit the values in the normally hidden columns. Very nice feature.

I like Nool's solution, but the way machines seem to be going, I wonder if dual-monitors will be enough for long? Very Happy

hey, that 2 monitors idea gave me another idea

nvidia drivers... or at least the ones I have, make the win desktop behave more like X11, so you can have a huge scrolling virtual desktop if you want. I'm going to play with that. unfortunately, the last time I did, it caused buzz to crash on startup (but that's when I had an insane amount of features enabled just to see what they did) so I disabled all of the nview features.

Oh. yes ! ... didn't use it properly yet ... but even this doesn't show ALL parameters. Try it with Fuzzpilz's Cheese. After scrolling to the right end there still are some parameters left before the pattern screen turns into 'all grey'.

actually... i DO have a dual screen setup... and stretching the buzz main window over both is no problem. having 2 19" at 1280x1024, it becomes a 2560x1024 screen, where buzz fits really nicely, even tho, if i remember correct, jacinth still does not fit... Wink
but i am not sure anymore, i am using the dual screen more like this; on the secondary screen buzz main window, on the primary the parameter windows and stuff... why the primary for the parameters? when you double click on a machine in F3, it pops up on the primary screen, and does not hide the view of the main window, so you dont have to move each parameter window out of the way, it already is out of the way...

with jacinth, i would recommend to use the gui anyway, unless you need it to automate things, then screamweaver does the trick... be sure to get the latest, it adds a horizontal scrollbar... Wink

the good thing about the dual screen setup is, if your monitor has pivot (like mine do), you can flip them both 90° and have one huge 2048x 1280 screen... that too is very nice for buzzing, having either stretched the main window over both, or the same as in the second option, which i use most... just giving out ideas... Wink

greet

www.halfo.com gets me on nools server and tells me that there is no such thing as www.halfo.com. I can't therefore obtain screamweaver.
anyone know where I may get it?

and where can I get buzz xp?

just for the record, on dual 1600 width resolution jacinth easily fits on the screens (even the uMw version with 5 additional global parameters, and you even get to see the first track and most of the second one) - but how could it ever fit my brain? IT ALL FALLING NUMBERS'N'STUFF TO ME Mr. Green
