There is Screamweaver and BuzzPlug XP now. Not exactly the same as in the picture but as useful, if not more.
I cant live without Screamweaver now. BuzzPlug XP is great too.
A few people use them it seems...
If you want to give a 'human touch' to your sound, varying slightly or strongly filters, these tools are fantastic.
ThanX Automaton and HD for such useful toolz! _________________ frenchy but chic |

what up mute, i dont know if you remember me, but i was one of the people who started the ibmc with gabriel winter and jimmac. as such, i actually do have probably EVERY song in every catergory on a data cd somewhere.
its probably in a box somewhere at another house, ill try to grab it next time i go there.
good seeing you guys are still alive.
Now will somebody PLEASE make a new, updated (and stable) buzz release pack with machines and stuff? the buzzmachines.com one is way too old. i havent used buzz in a while and formattin always make it tough to get back into. |

there seems to be some deeply rooted human instinct that makes some of us believe that formatting is "better" than just deleting the files you need deleted and that reusing an existing installation of an application like buzz is generally a thing to be avoided.
just like there is a some deeply rooted human instinct that makes some of us live in a constant irrational fear of spiders. _________________ .nl chefs go blok blok blok |

You have used Windows before, right?

The problem is, if you try reusing an installation of virtually any other app, especially a commercial app and especially especially a Microsoft app, it will fail miserably. Most apps need the tangled web of registry keys and windows\system32 dlls woven by their installers. |

yeah, i would not try to run an old installation of MS Office on a reinstalled windows (well, i _have_ done/tried it in emergency situations, but i kind of expected what would happen, not many features will work with all the OLE/COM registrations out of commission), but it's just stupid to assume this for every application.
and yes, i have been using windows since 3.11 fWg, but i can't remember deliberately reformatting unless the filesystem was completely broken - in which case there is not much "re" in "formatting".
ps: rule #1 for NTFS usage has prooved to be very useful: always keep a dedicated small primary partition for a maintenance installation of an OS that can work with NTFS, if the maintenance installation fails too then you can easily reinstall that because a plain installation is good enough for this purpose. _________________ .nl chefs go blok blok blok |

im with usr, i rarely format.. its all about maintance for me. on my main pc (amd athalon xp 1900) which is now almost 4 years old.. or maybe it is already... i didnt format it a single time after i first built it until about 6 months ago when i got a virus doing something that i knew better than doing in the first place.. W2K was getting hard to maintain anymore though because you couldnt upgrade IE and it was becomming too difficult to stop virii and spyware installers (damn random porn searches!). plus ill finally admit it now.. XP is a pretty decent OS.
so it was time to upgrade anyways. plus i added more diskspace..
personally, ive always felt that running a system as long as you can makes it perform that much better if it is well maintained. thats obviously true for *nix systems and i say its the same for windows. you get all the bs out, get it down to just want you need/want.. recognize everything running.. the swap file(s) are super happy as is disc allocation for applications, runtimes, etc. you name it.
most ppl though, present company excluded.. im talkin average users, probably should reformat every couple of years at the least because they probably damage something every time they get on the internet.
for u ppl out there that reformat once or twice every year because u think it improves performance.. well.. yer crack heads.
omg i just went on an offtopic rant |

There used to be a much bigger wishlist than this on bm.com or buzztrack.com somewhere. Stuff like "please add a notation editor" _________________
